This is the latest episode of the free DDW podcast, “The role of animals in the future of drug discovery”. It covers two articles written for Volume 22, Issue 4 – Fall 2021 of DDW, narrated by DDW Multimedia Editor Megan Thomas. They are called “How an animal model provider can save your resources” and “Hype or hope – microphysiological systems?

In the first article, John Couse, PhD, Vice President, Scientific Services, Taconic Biosciences, explains how focussing on best practices for animal models can reduce a project’s timeline, budget, and total number of animals used.

In the second article, Dr Tomasz Kostrzewski, Director of Biology at CN Bio Innovations, examines MPS in drug discovery as part of a preclinical toolbox.
