This is the latest episode of the free DDW podcast: “Opportunities to improve drug discovery systems”. It covers two articles written for Volume 22, Issue 1 – Winter 2020/21 of the Drug Discovery World Magazine.
The first article is titled “Precision control of protein release to reconfigure bioprocessing and cell-based assays”, where the authors Dr J. Mark Treherne, Dr Christian Pernstich and Dr Michael Jones examine how the controlled release of proteins will improve the reproducibility of cell-based drug discovery screens.
The second is called “Boosting pharmaceutical research with microbiome data”, where Anthony Finbow, CEO of Eagle Genomics, reports how microbiome-based evidence is set to drive understanding of how drugs interact with human ‘host’ environments, helping devise more targeted treatments and create business opportunities.
