Tips and Tricks on Obtaining Quality Data from Biosensors for Cell Signalling Assays

Watch On Demand

Tips and tricks on how to obtain and analyse high quality data from live cell, high throughput assays of signaling dynamics.

Genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors enable continuous recording of cellular signaling in live cells. This breakthrough technology provides unprecedented, real-time measurements of signaling dynamics, which is emerging as a critical determinant of physiological function and therapeutic targeting of signaling proteins.

In this webinar Agilent BioTek will go through the scientific and technological tips and tricks to obtain high quality, high throughput kinetic data on BioTek plate readers, with biosensors for G-protein-coupled receptor second messengers and arrestin recruitment. We will then describe how to analyse signalling dynamics by applying curve fitting to the time course data. This analysis is straightforward, and we provide a plug-in for the curve-fitting programme GraphPad Prism to enable analysis with familiar software. This reveals new insights exemplified by differential signalling kinetics and arrestin recruitment mechanisms for multiple GPCRs.
