Sartorius has launched a Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) system, designed to offer scientists a high- throughput, low maintenance solution for fast characterisation of a variety of biomolecular interactions.
The company’s Octet SF3 system is the first under the Sartorius Octet brand. Up to now, the Octet brand was synonymous with Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI), a proprietary fluidic-free instrument platform for real- time, label-free analysis of biomolecular interactions. According to the company, this new launch means Sartorius is the only company to offer customers two label-free technologies, BLI and SPR under one brand.
The system has been designed to include industry standard multi-cycle kinetics and the company’s own patented injection technology. Sartorious’ OneStep Injection Technology eliminates the need to prepare multiple dilution series, allowing users to create a comprehensive concentration gradient for kinetics and affinity analysis by preparing only a single analyte solution. The system also offers NeXtStep Injection Technology intended for competition assays.
