Moderna has appointed Darius Hughes as UK General Manager in what the company considers an “important milestone” in its growth in the UK market.
Background
Hughes joins Moderna following eight years as the head of Pfizer’s UK vaccines business unit where most recently he liaised with government, regulators and industry bodies to assist in the supply of Covid-19 vaccines in the UK.
Hughes was also Chair of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) vaccines group. He previously held several roles within Pfizer across global, European and local teams. Prior to joining Pfizer, Hughes spent thirteen years at Boots the Chemist. Hughes is a registered pharmacist and holds a BSc in pharmacy from the University of Portsmouth, UK.
