Expertise on automating discovery with AI: Join DDW at SLAS2025
Another high profile speaker has signed up to the DDW SLAS track – Nicola Richmond, Chief Scientist, AI, Recursion.

Richmond will be speaking at DDW‘s track – Concept to Cure: Curiosity and Lab Automation in Drug Discovery at SLAS2025 (25-29 January 2025, San Diego, USA).
This free programme, which will run on 27, 28 and 29 January, will present examples of research and drug development from industry experts using lab automation. Richmond will be speaking about Automating drug discovery with AI on 27 January.
Richmond has worked at the intersection of drug discovery and technology for 25 years. She is driven by combining AI and lab technologies to solve challenges posed by modern-day drug discovery. In 2004, she joined GlaxoSmithKline, where she worked primarily on building efficiencies into small molecule and antibody drug discovery by developing systems that exploit large-scale, lab data. Richmond moved to BenevolentAI, where her focus switched to AI-augmentation of the human expert scientist through leadership of Benevolent’s AI function. She now serves as Chief Scientist, AI at Recursion where she combines her experiences in augmentation and automation to advance the mission of industrialising drug discovery.
