In the modern life science landscape, the journey from a biological hypothesis to a therapeutic breakthrough is rarely a straight line. It is a path frequently obstructed by the physical realities of the bench: the stubborn viscosity of a specific buffer, the stringent requirements for sample traceability, or the simple human limitation of manual pipetting for repeatability. At Revvity, we address workflow specificities and researchers’ needs through an alignment between instrument capabilities and the biological goals of the labs.

A partnership rooted in discovery

Revvity’s vision for laboratory automation is deeply research driven. We don’t just aim to “return time” to the scientist; we aim to help solve the specific workflow hurdles that stand in the way of discovery. Our approach is defined by listening to the requirements of researchers’ protocols, understanding media, pathways, and throughput goals to propose an adequate solution.

To support this collaborative approach, Revvity offers an extensive liquid handling and automation portfolio. From the compact, budget-friendly AssayMate™ system to the high-throughput Sciclone™ G3 NGSx iQ workstation, the highly flexible Fontus™ and JANUS™ workstations, and the high precision FlexDrop™ Plus system for non-contact dispensing, our range offers technologies that adapt to the science, rather than forcing the science to adapt to the robot.

A tailored portfolio: matching technology to workflow challenges

Every lab faces specific challenges. For those managing intricate reformatting, varied tube types, and diverse media, the Fontus™ and JANUS™ workstations serve as flexible powerhouses. These systems are designed to handle complex liquid handling tasks, from hit picking to serial dilutions, with many versatile features.

Central to these workstations is a distinctive software duality that balances power with accessibility. The WinPREP™ software package provides deep, advanced protocol building capabilities, and also recognising that researchers should not waste time programming, its Application Assistant companion offers a simplified, drag-and-drop interface. This allows researchers to execute standardised runs with ease, as high-level automation is accessible to everyone in the lab.

For labs focused on robust, mid-range throughput, the Zephyr™ G3 workstation is recognised for its reliability. To cite only one major advantage of the Zephyr G3 system, its clog detection capability monitors pressure in real-time allowing the system to identify obstructions, such as partially dissolved pellets or cellular debris. This protects precious samples and allows for run integrity during high-speed operations. Like its counterparts, the Zephyr system is driven by a powerful program, the Maestro™ software, which offers a balance of sophisticated control and an intuitive user experience.

In the specialised realms of antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and biologics research, the FlexDrop™ Plus non-contact dispenser has become a trusted tool. Its ability to dispense nanolitre volumes of precious reagents with high precision, reducing the risk of carryover or the cost of disposable tips, enables researchers to accelerate screening while conserving limited sample material.

The AssayMate™ workstation: Automation performance for every lab

While high-throughput systems are essential for large-scale operations, Revvity is committed to bringing automation performance to labs of any size. The AssayMate workstation is our intelligent entry point, a benchtop-sized, budget-friendly solution that bridges the gap between manual pipetting and full-scale robotics.

The AssayMate system is specifically engineered to help overcome common liquid handling hurdles. With Pressure-Based Liquid Level Detection (pLLD), it manages different viscosities and volumes (up to 1000µL) without the need to switch heads. Its partial tip-loading capability is a valuable advantage for tube-to-plate transfers, while the reconfigurable recessed deck allows for easy integration of optional modules such as on-deck thermal cycler (ODTC), magnetic blocks, heater-shakers, or coolers.

Operationally, the AssayMate liquid handler is designed to support rapid setup and use. The AssayPREP™ software features a drag-and-drop interface with real-time run visualization. Scientists can move from manual protocols to automated workflows quickly, requiring minimal training and no coding for common tasks, making it an automation tool that can work for the scientist, right out of the box.

Automate. Integrate. Scale. From workbench to full walkaway workflows

As research evolves, so do throughput needs. Revvity’s ecosystem is built to scale. Our standalone liquid handlers are automation-ready and can be integrated into explorer™ G3 workstations. By connecting liquid handling with detection, incubation, and robotic automation, we help labs transition from individual automated steps up to full “walkaway” workflows. The intelligent scheduling: plate::works™ and job::manager™ software provide real-time decision-making and a calendar-style view for multi-user environments.

This integrated approach ultimately allows for 24/7 operation with high levels of data reproducibility, turning the individual instruments into a cohesive, high-performance discovery solution.

The power of a unified partner

The strength of Revvity’s liquid handling portfolio lies in its ability to address the most demanding research challenges by combining standardised reliability with the flexibility of customised, research-driven configurations. However, our commitment to your success extends far beyond the instrument itself.

By partnering with Revvity, you gain access to a one-provider support model as we provide an extensive end-to-end ecosystem, including reliable reagents like HTRF™ and Alpha technologies, sophisticated data analysis software, and a global service network of expert engineers. This holistic approach enhances the optimisation of every discovery stage for speed and accuracy.
