Sinocompound Catalysts has launched a video series sharing catalyst expertise. “The essentials in a synthetic chemist’s toolbox”, is the swork of Technical Advisor, Dr Carin Seechurn. The first episode is now live and focuses on palladium catalysed cross-coupling reactions.
Over the last 20-30 years, hundreds of ligands have been reported in the literature with a number of these falling into the category of “privileged ligands”, those which offer a fair chance of success for a certain cross-coupling reaction. In palladium catalysed cross-coupling reactions, users should be aware of several potential issues, particularly when scaling up their process from gram to kilogram quantities. The video highlights some of these so that scientists can consider at a much earlier stage the measures they need to take to reduce later scale-up obstacles.
Dr Carin Seechurn, Sinocompound, commented: “We created this video series to help problem-solve some of the issues we see occurring most frequently in the industry. With more than a decade of experience behind us, we see customers encountering the same challenges time and time again, many of which can be avoided by taking the right steps early on. We’re keen to help our customers accelerate their route to market by sharing our expertise and through providing flexible, high quality ligands with a rapid turnaround time.”
